Short Internship Fair: EM Normandie initiates a new format to meet with companies

In order for Master in Management Undergraduate 1 & 3 and Bachelor Management International students to find short internships more easily as well as to support companies in their recruitment, EM Normandie staged a new type of Student Fair on 9, 11 and 12 March 2020 on its Le Havre, Caen and Paris Campuses. Some 40 companies participated to exchange with students in a ‘speed dating’ approach… without any time limit imposed though. 

Three hours to obtain an internship

The main feature for this professional ‘speed dating’ exercise laid in the fact interviews were… not limited in time! The only time constraint was imposed by EM Normandie: this Fair was to last three hours maximum. This concept did appeal to the 200 applicants and those companies present, such as Leroy Merlin, Décathlon, Biocoop, Dealer de Coque, Bouygues Telecom, Fnac Darty, Nicolas, Madircom, Groupe Bolloré and CMA-CGM. The companies that were not able to attend made their offers available through the EM Normandie Internship Service. The internships offered ranged from one to four months in duration over a period covering late April up to late August.

This Short Internship Fair is but one of the concrete examples of the initiatives by the EM Normandie Career Path Scheme to support students in the building of their future professional careers. In addition to acting as an interface between recruiters and students, a differentiating strong point of the Business School, the Scheme supports students in all programmes throughout their study paths in designing a concrete and realistic career project, which is relevant to their capabilities, ambitions and the employment market potential. Personality tests (AssessFirst, TalentToday), individual and collective coaching sessions to develop a networking approach or to prepare for recruitment interviews, are as many milestones on the path to a successful and fulfilling professional life.
