SESAME National Test Bank

Le concours SESAME

The SESAME Test Bank, open high school students, is common to 17 Business Schools. 
EM Normandie organises every year free presentation and training days on the Caen and Paris campuses to prepare you for the Sesame written and oral Tests.

SESAME Registration Modalities for this year

The admissions test process comprises several important steps:

  1. On-line registration : from end-January to mid-March 2020 on Parcoursup
  2. School-of-choice confirmation : from mid-March to early-April 2020 on Parcoursup
  3. Written test: 8 April 2020
  4. Written test results: 16 April 2020 on mySesame
  5. Oral test: from 17 April to 6 May 2020. As soon as the results of the writing test are available, candidates have until 20 April to make an appointment with the schools on the oral calendar made available on mySesame
  6. Final admission results: mid-May 2020

Test Fees for SESAME 2019

  • €195 for one school, 50% discount for state grant holders
  • € 30 per choosen programme, 50% discount for state grant holders

Is there a specific preparation course for the SESAME tests?

Is there a specific preparation course for the tests?
To give candidates the best possible help, SESAME has designed a range of effective, user-friendly and absolutely free tools. 

  • Training quiz to prepare for the Logical Reasoning and Language Test, available on www.concours-sesame.net 
  • Past tests sent out to you after your registration has been confirmed (free) 
  • SESAME Official Mobile Application 
  • Free presentation and training days organised on the Caen and Paris Campuses 
  • Advice videos on the SESAME Facebook page  

It is important to keep informed about current economic, political and social affairs. Your general knowledge can really make the difference in the Analysis/Synthesis Test or during the oral interview. 
 

I live abroad. May I still take the SESAME tests ?

Yes. Please contact SESAME directly to find out the methods of opening a Test Centre abroad: +33 (05) 56 52 56 41 or check on www.concours-sesame.net.

As regards the oral tests, it is possible to take the tests by videoconference (Skype). You must specify this to SESAME at the time of registration and specific time-slots will be offered to you. 
 

After my secondary education, I took a training year but I would like to switch studies. May I register for the SESAME Tests?

Yes, the SESAME National Test is open to secondary education leavers as well as students wishing to switch courses of study after a year.  

What are the business schools in the SESAME consortium?

ESSEC GLOBAL BBA, NEOMA Reims, NEOMA Rouen, EBP International KEDGE Bordeaux, IBBA KEDGE Marseille, EM Normandie, ESCE, BBA ESC TROYES, BBA LAROCHELLE, IPAG BUSINESS SCHOOL.
You may register for several or even all of these schools in order to increase your chances of being admitted. 

How many candidates applied for EM Normandie for the 2018 SESAME session?  

There were 3,603 candidates who applied for EM Normandie in 2018, of whom 660 were offered admission, which means that EM Normandie short-listed 1 candidate in 5 on average. 

Are there financial aid schemes to help me pay for my studies?

EM Normandie has put some schemes in place tohelp as many students access the programmes as possible: 

  • Partnerships with banks: The school has developed partnerships with banking organisations in order to make access to loans easier for students. 
  • Grants: students who already hold a state grant may continue to benefit from this aid. Moreover, students without a grant may apply to the CROUS for one.
  • Solidarity Fund: Any student may access this fund on condition they support their claims with evidence of their financial difficulties. 
  • Cooperative Tracks: a total tuition fee waiver for 2 years, settled by the host company.  
  • Student Jobs: paid jobs proposed by the School’s Junior Enterprise club, and clubs such as Easy Job and Jobs Services.

Finally, you may enquire with your regional or departmental councils. Some local authorities have set up student mobility aids.

Do you offer cooperative programmes?

Yes, cooperative tracks are offered in the Bachelor's, Grande Ecole Programme and Mastères Spécialisés (MS) programmes. 

Admission requirements, schedule, types of contracts, campuses, tuition fees, number of hours and course contents are detailed in the Cooperative Track Brochure.

Does the school help us to find cooperative agreements?

Yes, the Cooperative Department gives you all the offers received from partner companies (over 5,000 per year) and organises recruitment sessions and specific coaching sessions, in addition to the Career Path Scheme activities.

The Alumni Association is also a good source of offers and opportunities.  

How many compulsory internships muststudents carry out before graduation?

Students joining the EM Normandie Grande Ecole Programme via the SESAME Test Bank may carry out up to 32 months of internship in France or abroad broken down as follows:  
•    1 to 3 optional months in Year 1 (U1)
•    3 compulsory months in Year 2 (U2)
•    3 to 5 compulsory months in Year 3 (U3)
•    1 to 3 optional months in Year 4 (M1)
•    2 x 6 month internships during the off-campus optional year
•    6 compulsory months in Year 5 (M2)

For students joining the EM Normandie Grande Ecole Programme via the BCE or PASSERELLE 1 Test Banks, it is possible to serve up to 26 months of internships in France or abroad, broken down as follows:
•    3 to 5 compulsory months in the 1st year (U3)
•    1 to 3 optional months in the 2nd year (M1)
•    2 x 6 month internships during the off-campus optional year
•    6 compulsory months in the 3rd year (M2)

For students joining the EM Normandie Grande Ecole Programme via the PASSERELLE 2 Test Bank, it is possible to serve up to 21 months of internship broken down as follows:
•    1 to 3 optional months in the 1st year (M1)
•    2 x 6 month internships during the off-campus optional year
•    6 compulsory months in the 2nd year (M2)

Yes, you are helped by the Corporate and Careers Service.
The Entreprises et Carrières Service and Association Alumni EM Normandie will help you with your search methodology, finalising your CV and/or preparating for motivation interviews.
